Video chat help

I'd like to video chat with my son. He lives far away and I don't get to see him very often. We both have laptops with cameras so I thought it'd be good if we could see each other. What messaging service can we use to do so? Not MSN however.

Personally, I use Skype to video call my family members who are in the UK (while I'm in Australia) and it works very well, also has the benefit of working cross platform - I've got a Mac at home and family members have PCs.
