Sixaxis charge problem

Anyone know what might be wrong with one of my sixaxis pads? Basically I have the thing hooked up to an unofficial charge cable (because Sony's one is such a bag of ****) and it seems to be charging.

When I remove the cable however and press the PS button, all 4 lights on the top of the pad will flash at once and not stop. I'm assuming it mustn't have enough charge, but I've left the console on overnight with the pad connected to it

It hasn't for some reason lost the pairing with the PS3 has it? Maybe you need to re-pair it? Googling shows people that have tried hooking it up to the PC and it keeps flashing (Indicating a lack of sync) so I'd assume it's the same here.
