    play Boku no Tennis Jinsei on PAL Dreamcast

    Hi there,
    I've a PAL Dreamcast and I'm trying to get this japanese game running on it. Tried Codebreaker, X-Ploder, Gameshark & Utopia but none them worked.
    I heard that Codebreaker is pretty much the best Import Bootdisc?
    Anyone got this game running?

    What else could I try, besides getting a modified copy of the game, mod the machine or buy a japanese dreamcast?

    You tried the DC-X boot disc ?

    Don't know if it works, just a suggestion.

      What lead are you using, RGB, VGA?, I remember trying to get a PAL Super Runabout working years ago on a JP machine and it'd only boot to a black screen after trying all those boot discs you've mentioned. One day I had an S-Video cable connected while playing something that wasn't RGB compatable and just decided to give Super Runabout another go, booted up first time, so it might be worth a try with another lead.

        thx for the quick answers

        @DavidHolliss:
        I haven't tried DC-X yet, but heard that Codebreaker is better.
        I already looked for a DC-X Disk, but only found a few for about 20 pounds, which would be as expensive as a modification for me.

        I guess that a mod offers the highest compatibility?
        The shop that offers the modification said that it would allow NEARLY every import game to work on my pal machine, so I guess I'd still have no guaranty that Boku no Tennis Jinsei would work after a mod..

        @Pharfetchd:
        I only have an RGB cable.. with Codebreaker the screen turned black and then the Dreamcast rebooted into its menu.
        That's pretty interesting, didn't know that the Dreamcast can detect the type of cable which which it's attached to the TV-set so accurately. I guess a "normal" AV cable instead of RGB wouldn't do the job?

            EDIT: doublepost, sry

            Anyway, tried it again, the game seems to load fine at first, Dreamcast logo and then Sega logo, but immediately after that it turns black and returns to the system menu.

              Yes a normal AV cable should be fine, if you have the original cable that shipped with the dreamcast that might work, i've quite a few games that don't boot using RGB, usually I just swap to a vga or s-video lead and they work fine.
