MVS Audio Outs...a little help please :)

    Hi all,
Just consolizing my seconf MVS unit - a 4-Slot and having problems with the audio side of things.
Have tried to hook up both stereo and mono via both the Jamma pins (both - Mono + and R and L pins) as well as the headphone 4-prong connector with no luck.
After faffing around with the stereo side of things I thought the easy way would be to take Mono + (pin er...11 I think) from the Jamma edge on the neo board and wire it to mono on the scart connector (pin 6 - Scart) and wire the Ground from the board to Scart pin 4. However I still get no sound??? On my cab the board outputs sound fine and have made these consolized units before and haven't had as many probs. Wondering if anyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong
    Cheers

You are grounding it right? Just do L+R and ground it. You can't just wire it to the RGB scart either as it'll likely blow the TV speakers being an amplified signal and all. Forget the 4-prong headphone connector too, just go straight off the JAMMA edge.

Oh, and you are turning the volume up on the board itself right?

      Yes, yes and yes!?
I orignally did the L, R and Ground from the board and no luck at all?? What the bloody hell am I doing wrong! I've even tested with a pair of headphones using the l, r and ground and placing them on the headphone plug but no luck either
My last one i went through the RGB connector and was fine - Can't i take it down with a resistor anyhow?
      cheers

Try taking the two boards apart and reseating them. It is rather strange though. Yers, use a resistor to take down the signal or at least keep the headphone slider near the bottom, and use the TV's volume.

Just soldered on three wires seperate from the rest just to test sound. Have a ground, the left audio and right audio. Am using a pair of headphones and testing the connections and am getting nothing?...which would indicate the sound is buggered perhaps - yet it worked yesterday on my cab !? Just going to take apart and re-seat - strangley the video works perfectly, just no sound!

Was adament I'd checked all the lines with a multimeter - clearly hadn't! as remembered 12v is for the sound - turns out the 12v line was dodgy/ What a chimp I am! Anyway all fixed and working now cheers

              Hey Paul,

Glad you got it fixed. Sorry I didn't reply to your PM yet but I was going to check my 4-Slot before replying. I only started messing about with MVS stuff lately so still learning.

Anyway good that you got it fixed.. sometimes it can be the most simplest of things
