Want to get a colour laser printer - any suggestions?

I'm looking to get a fairly cheap colour laser printer. So far I have whittled it down to the HP CLJ 1600 (?99 from Micro Anvika) or the Samsung CLP 300 (?145 from Dabs.com, with USB cable)

As far as I can see, you get screwed over for any model when it comes to buying new toner so I guess I'll just have to accept that.

I've read a fair few bad reviews of the Samsung though, so am minded to steer clear of that. So looks like the HP - and I'll try to get them to throw the cable in too, or give me a discount for paying cash or something.

Before I take the plunge though, any other thoughts/suggestions?

What's your main purpose? Quantity or quality? Budget? Available space?
Oki printers are good all-around printers, but probably are beyond your range (around 1800 euros)

Budget really. I don't need it for printing anything super jazzy. Want to be able to print documents, job applications etc and the occasional A4 poster. Got fed up with ink drying up in my dodgy old inkjet.

I do take lots of photos, but I print them off so rarely that I would just get them done at a shop if I needed a good photo printed out, so the printer won't need to do photo quality.

Either one of the ones that you've seen should be just fine for home use (which I'm assuming it's for). If you spend a little more on the Samsung CLP350 then you'll find it comes with a 3yr on site warranty (public sector / home use) which should put your reliability worries at ease too. I've had a Samsung CLP500 for over 3yrs now in my 3 man office and it's still going strong.

Oh, and although the price there is ?114, I would certain not buy from Pixmania, as every experience I have known anyone to have with them has been awful. Even at ?40 more I would still get it from dabs.com ...
