Difficulty setting in Resident Evil CV X (Gamecube, PAL) ?

I just bought this game and I never got a choice to select a difficult setting. Is there only one setting?

To my knowledge, only the Japanese version has easy and normal difficulties, all other versions just use the normal difficulty.

I've started playing this as well, just got to the Antarctic.

Wish there was difficulty option, this game is way too hard for me
