    UK Xbox in the US

AHA! For once the other way around!

I'm looking to take my UK Xbox out to the States for my brother to use, but obviously there are power supply issues. I'm guessing you can't just plug it straight into a US socket with an adaptor, so do I need something like this?

You need a step-up transformer. I think that's just an adapter, it won't do anything except blow it up I believe. It depends on what the VA is on the 360.

You need a proper 360 MS 110 adapter.

Is it just to borrow, or is your bro there permanent?

Are you looking at keeping it there or just temporarily? Just i've got a 110v PSU i'd happily trade if it was staying there.

Otherwise, I'm not sure about that product you linked to, you'd need something that could step-up and be able to draw 300w (that's what my step down's wattage is aswell).

        Hope that helped.

I'm guessing it's just an Xbox rather than a 360?

If that's the case then you will need a step-up (150w I'd imagine) convertor as elaniel suggests.

Thanks for the link. It's a normal XBox rather than a 360, and my brother works out there as a snowboard instructor so it's relatively permanent (this is his 3rd season).

The irony that it's a US launch Xbox, that was modded with a UK power supply fitted is not lost on me!

It's very unlikely that he will have a TV that will support the PAL colour system, so you may need to use a component cable.

Found it mate, but i'm not 100% it's for an xbox, seems physically thinner than what i remember.

                    Can anyone verify it?

Looks like it, but can you photograph the other end please?

Shock's is a US launch unit, so thats a v1.0 and that power supply looks like a v1.0/1.1 (single row power connector rather than double row). So it should be the perfect match.
