Problem with TV and NTSC PS2.

    Hi,

I have tried to find a TV to connect my NTSC PS2 to.

So far I have tried two new CRT 4:3 TV's a 28 and a 21. The problem is that the picture is curved on the left and right. At the top and bottom the picture goes all the way to the edges but in the middle it dosn't.

I have tried both composite and s-video and even though s-video is better on at least one of them it's still pretty bad.

I looked in the service menu on the 21 and there didn't appear to be any way to adjust it in there. I havn't on the 28 because I'm not sure that I will be able to return it to the store again if I do.

Does anyone know what the problem is or if there is a way to fix it?

    Thanks!

Sounds like both TVs have geometry issues and weren't adjusted at the factory for 60hz video. Service menu adjustments are really the only option.

Yep - if they're new CRTs these tend to be of a very poor quality, too, since they're only made for the low-end market (and pricepoint) now.

I've returned a TV I completely borked in service mode () before and nothing was said.

The settings you're looking for are things like Para and Pin: do NOT adjust them unless you're confident in what you're doing.

This page has a useful guide (it's specifically for Toshiba settings, but hey).
