Japanese Biohazard games on the Gamecube

I'm seriously thinking about getting the Biohazard boxset that's just been released since it's probably the cheapest way to get the entire set as well as some nice extras alongside.

What I'd like to know is how much of the game is in Japanese? I understand that all of the vocals in the game are in English with subtitles but what are the in-game menus and item descriptions like? I have a basic grasp of kanji, hirigana and katakana though is a more thorough knowledge in these areas required?

I have played all of the games from 0 to Code Veronica in English before (0 and REmake most recently) so I have a rough idea of what needs to be done story wise, though I'm sure I'll have forgotten a few of the finer details along the way.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I have all these in Japanese, as for the story your going to be stuck, even I can't read half the kanji inside the game...because the game is full of gore and horror, the Japanese level is of that of an adult.

I have to get my mrs to help out when im playing this, as I hate missing out on the story totally and I need to know whats going on about everything, it becomes tiresome...anyway its still very playable, I would buy it from a collecting point of view
