has anyone out there ever produced or knows of where a compiled list of japanese games (PS2) that have english in them ie menus or language switching. i cant find one anywhere.

The rule that I usually use is...
Stay away from heavy text games unless they are in english... But everything else is pretty much playable in Japanese once you know the basics to navigate and save etc...
Check out the Japanese guide on the homepage here if you are new to Japanese stuff...
It won't be long before you can navigate all the options in Japanese and you won't need to worry.
I know that doesn't fully answer your question but hope it helps.
