What will happen when my Live expires?

It's due to run out at the end of the month, and my credit card is expired so they can't renew it. Will it just downgrade to silver automatically? I've heard reports that rather than doing that it locks the account instead preventing access to Arcade titles/Gamerscore/unused MS points.

Anyone know for sure? I can't really be bothered to phone them if I don't need to.

Yep - mine did the same , it just dropped to Silver then I got a voucher jobby and applied it a couple weeks later.

Same here, it just changes to Silver, everything remains the same/useable.

I thought they charged you 40 quid for another year if you had a card linked to it

Yeah they would usually but the card has expired so they won't be able to auto-renew it. If it's just going to turn into a silver account with no hassle that's aces
