    PDA help - Clie PEG-S300

I decided to buy a cheap PDA on eBay, and the old Sony Clie PEG-S300 caught my eye. The first one I bought was faulty and I had to send it straight back. Luckily I got a second one cheaper, but I don't think it's working properly either. Does anyone have any experience with these (my first PDA)?

I basically got it this morning and decided to let it charge while I was at work. I popped it into the cradle and it immediately turned itself on and displayed a splash screen saying "Palm computing platform" (and there's a small blinking cursor in the top left). Unfortunately I can't get it to do anything else at all. I can't even seem to turn it off, it just displays the splash screen and nothing else. I tried the factory reset on the back, which turns it off for a few seconds, and then it goes right back to the same screen.

I can only think that it's either broken, or is it possible that the Palm OS may have been wiped or something?

Has ever had a problem like this, or can anyone suggest any PDA sites that might provide some information?

www.cliesource.com should be able to answer this.

Edame, it looks like it needs a hard reset or a palm os rom upload. Try pressing up or down on the scroll button and press the reset button.

Made a good choice with the clie it rocks.

Thanks Neil. I posted my question there, so hopefully I'll get a reply sometime this weekend. I tried holding down on the scroll button and pressing factory reset, but all it does is switch it off (which is something) and the only way to switch it back on is to press factory reset again.

Just figured it out, the Palm support site had a list of different resets, so I did a full hard reset and that seemed to fix it.
