DS Lite Sound

Hi guys,

I picked up a DS Lite at the weekend; I've been enjoying Zelda and FFIII plenty but I'm finding the audio very hissy.

It's not too noticeable with sound effects, however the music in FFIII lacks clarity and there is a definite hiss in the background with the volume all the way up. It's also on the quiet side. I get the same issue with headphones so it ain't the speakers.

Have you guys had similar experiences? Wondering if my DS has an issue, or if I'm just expecting too much.

I've think I've noticed very slight hissing on all my DS' when the volume is up loud

Yes, there is a definite hiss with all DS models. Very noticeable with headphones. It's a shame as the recorded audio on most DS games is of far better quality than the hardware will output.

I wonder how much is down to compressing stuff to fit on cartridge.

In any case, the lack of loading times makes up for it
