Wirless Laptop not working?

My Sony Viao laptop no longer gets a wireless signal at all. It just stopped working while I was surfing the net.

I know its the laptop because when I search for a wireless network it does not even pick up any of the neighbours networks which were always on the list of available networks before.

My net access is working fine for live etc so it seems to be the laptop.

I have created a new network, disabled the current connection etc & followed all the guidelines in the help file without success.

Can anyone help?.

It's not something silly like your laptop has a wireless button (to switch wireless on/off) and you've pressed it by accident is it (as happened to my daughter few weeks back).

AFAI know there is no wireless button on the laptop - not that I can see anyway.
