A question for Japanese Wii owners in the UK

How do you find the download speeds for VC games? How about online gameplay? Does it matchmake via nearest server, system setting, or game region?

I'm moving back to the UK and wondering if I should bring my Wii. Any and all advice much appreciated.

Connection to downloading VC seems fine, i usually just do something else while it's downloading but small games like famicom are very fast.

Have only tried Smash Bros and NiGHTs online. Smash is fine online, NiGHTs i have tried once to find random players onlne and couldn't find anyone (only got NiGHTs yesterday so dunno if it's because no one is playing anymore or if i was just online at an odd time).
As far as i'm aware Smash matchmakes to players closest to you, whilst games like Mario Strikers just locks you to Japan. Although i'm not 100% sure about the specifics.

The only channel i've found to be a bit cumbersome to use is the 'everybody's nintendo' channel, it buffers too much so isn't really worth watching.

Tried nights online with my friend in japan i had no lag at all.

The vc stuff i havent had any probs with either it runs very fast on mine & im only using the crappy nintendo wifi dongle. Like KusoGaki says eveybodys nintendo channel runs slow, but if you watch it at a time where everyone in japan is in bed then it seems to run fine, i have tried it at different times & at certain times it seems to crawl more than others.

Paying for the stuff once your in the uk shouldnt be a problem as you can use a uk credit card fine to buy stuff off the vc.

Thanks guys. Everyone's nintendo sometimes requires a lot of time to buffer here in Japan, anyway, if I'm doing anything else on the web at the same time. Sometimes less than ten seconds to get started, other times it runs for four seconds, rebuffers, four seconds, rebuffers...
