PSP battery replacement?

My Jpn launch PSP battery has turned to mince & needs charging seemingly every 5 seconds; are any of the 3rd party batteries any good for the job? I can't seem to find an official replacement battery anywhere.

ebay ? I picked up a sealed official one (well looked official to me and works great), for about eight pound delivered just before Xmas - talking old fat model.

I've got one of those X2 batteries from Datel. Massive but lasts for aaaaaggggeeees. Had it for a good while with no drop out either.

Is that the one that sticks out of the PSP? How intrusive is it?

It sticks out but gives you something to grip. Easing your fingers out a little actually makes long session gaming more comfarotable that the totally flat and slippery original.
