Question about PS3 online gaming

Not all games have their servers region locked, right? But could you play online the NTSC version of one of those games on a PAL console on a PAL territory?

Yes - there's no way for the servers to tell for sure that you are in a PAL territory, and I don't see why any game would bother trying to prevent out-of-region players, anyway (especially since there are likely to be so few of them).

I think there's a risk that a game might assume your location based on the region of the disk, allowing you only to play against North Americans but I don't think many games are like this. Originally Motorstorm set its region this way, but in an upgrade they allowed you to select for yourself.
