    Wierd Dead Xbox 360

Well it's finally happened. My launch day Jpn 360 has died. But in the most strange of ways. There is no RRoD. The graphics chip seems to have died. The screen glitches / freezes and sometimes goes black. However it does power on briefly each time its switched on. Is this the end? Or is there a fix for this problem?

If its dead I'm going to be in the market for a new 360. I will need either a Jpn or Asian model. Should I get one now or wait for the long rumoured "fixed" version? Where is the cheapest place?

I'm so annoyed. I only got VF5 yesterday and it wont stay alive long enough for a single round.

    yep it's the end

it's not strange either - quite a few (if not most) 360s do this before they get the rrod anyway (bear in mind rrod could mean quite a few things - you even get rrod if the hard drive is dodgy or not fitted correctly!)

the super-duper new 360s are yet to appear (with the cooler graphics chips and processors). at the moment the latest 360s have a cooler processor but not graphics (which is the biggest cause of rrod anyway) and also an extra heatsink stuck onto the old one, and i think the general consensus is that your 360 will likely conk out sooner or later, including the latest ones

Yeparooney - the 360's borked. The symptoms you're getting are indicative of the GPU borking. Basically, you're getting the 360 past post so it's semi booting, then its freezing up

Many of the borked 360's won't show lights on the rol at the front, as the 360 doesn't boot far enough for it to light up - if you're after it being repaired, drop me a pm, I can do it for you or talk you through fixing the bad-boy
