Official Xbox 360 Wireless Headset Thread

I couldn't find an answer to my questions so thought I would create an official thread for all 360 wireless headset talk. I hope you all don't mind!

    Here we go:

I got a wireless headset today and put it on charge about five hours ago and I've come back to find the four lights are still flashing without any of them filling up. I thought each light stayed lit as it gets closer to being fully charged?

Also, this is the only USB charging device I've found so far that draws power from the 360 without it being on or like when you turn it off with a Play and Charge kit attached. Would it charge quicker if the console was on?

Nah it just keeps going 1.2.3.4 for the lights as it is charging , they aren't an indicator of how charged they are. I think they stop though when it is fully charged.

I think USB only can carry 5 volts, so I doubt it is any quicker when the machine is on.

I used it with the pc once and it works good. You did the wireless dongle thingy for the pc of course.

I've been using a Plantronics Halo 2 headset for years and thanks to Datel making a dongle to plug it into the 360 controller like normal it worked great (shame Datel stopped making these).

I tried the wireless headset for the first time last night and was impressed. It feels light weight and comfortable (I'm using the small ear loop). The controls are responsive and easy to access. I quite like the design of it too. You can view how much battery is left, just like the controller, by opening the Guide.

When you mute/unmute it, it beeps in your ear on the button press but does it do anything to remind you it's on mute?

So whats the general opinion of this? I broke my wired headset today, it wasn't working properly, people could hear me but I couldn't hear them so I opened it up and now it won't all fit back in together and is completely fUxx0r3d!!1

Game.co.uk have these at £25 when buying something else from a list of things one being a play and charge kit which I could also do with anyway since I need to charge mine every day now.

So, £25, worth it? Considering I need to shell out at least £15 for a wired one anyway!

I thought it was rubbish - people said the sound quality was awful (but I could hear them OK) and I had the constant disconnects where it would just drop connection whenever it liked.

I also found muting it to be a pain after having the function conveniently at the base of the pad with the wired one.

I wouldn't bother personally and would shop around for a cheaper wired one.

Hmm thats a bummer, I was really looking forward to getting it now. But if other people have similar problems then I won't bother.

Mine drops out occasionally but when it's working it sounds clear and it's very comfortable and unobtrusive. The battery life could be better. I'm not complaining for £20 though.

I always liked mine, it's louder than the wired ones but I think the people on the other end don't get it as clear as a wired one, it picks up much more background noise.

I don't mind charging it every day or something, always have the PC on and charge my PS3 and 360 controllers through that so fine to do the same with this is it's USB chargeable?

Nice that you're saying it's louder Boris as that's one thing I always wanted the original mic to be, louder! As I like to have my surround volume loud and often would drown out my mates talking in my ear.

Think I'll just buy it - against the advice of Spatial - and if it's crap I'll sell it and you can say "I told ya so!".

I love my Plantronics Halo 2 headset, but when I use it after using the wireless one it doesn't feel right.

Well eventually got round to using this tonight for the first time. And the verdict is...

                          TWO THUMBS UP!!

Played for a good 2 hours on CoD4 with 2 mates and they both said it sounded just as good as before, if not better using the new wireless headset. It feels great to wear, you forget it's even there and has good volume capabilities too. Buttons are easily reached for volume and mute.

                          Great purchase!

It's much easier to eat and drink while wearing the wireless headset.
