Play.com Xbox 360 GTA IV deal

Hi guys,

Apologies in advance if this has been addressed before. I spotted that play are offering a GTA IV and Xbox 360 premium deal for ?199.99.

I've been looking to purchase a 360 for a while now and I think this price could clinch it. However, I have a few reservations/quick questions that i'd be most grateful if anyone could answer:

1) Are the new premium models equipped with the HDMI port (and is there any way of requesting/guaranteeing a newer model from an online retailer?)

2) I know that 360's are prone to the RROD/noise and I've heard about an updated falcon chipset, is this included in the premium model?

3) I believe that Microsoft issued an extended warranty. Should the 360 become fubarred from RROD what recourse would I have? Would I have to send it back to the retailer or Microsoft direct?

4) Since I would be playing on a CRT at present (with view to buying a HDTV later) would any of the other models be more suitable? Are there any decent RGB type cables currently available whilst I save?

1) All newly manufactured units have HDMI now, but there maybe older units in stock without them - best ask play.com directly

2) The falcon chipset isn't on the shelves yet AFAIK

3) There's a three year warranty for RROD - it's sent back to Microsoft's repair centre, which can be organised through the xbox.com website ( if you've registered your machine ).

4) The Xbox360 comes with a cable in the box that caters for Composite and HD via component ( and a HDMI cable in the Elite's case ). RGB cables are availble for £10-15.

As of about September last year all new machines have had HDMI and I'd imagine they are mostly Falcons now too, as they were trickling through back then.

well you can usually tell if they are the newer version with 175w written on the label of the box i was told

i would just buy one at that price as your getting the game for nothing as the console is worth 200 notes

Apparently you can use 'experience08' to get 5% off, bringing it to £190. Which is quite nice.
