    thanks much

The GC doesn't output VGA, so whatever you have bought is converting the signal somehow, which will always degrade the piccy. However, I have heard of people using vga adaptors for GC's and the picture being ok, so it sounds like a faulty cable.
If you are lucky, someone else on here has one, so you could send it to them for them to compare.
    Anyone?

90% of us/jap games support prog scan mode i think

but i have tried it on viewtiful joe adn rogue squadron both of which booted successfully in prog scan mode ( i held b before switching the machine on until it loaded)

I believe i wouldn't get a pic at all on a non prog scan mode

              wicky:
what resolution is your TFT screen?

THe GC will only output a picture that is 640*480 which is probably a lot lower than your screen and you screen is scaling the image [and unless you have a top TFT] it will look pants.

Look for away to switch off the scaling/full screen mode on your monitor options.

              Neil.

Excellent, what payment method did you use if you don't mind me asking?

I need the cable as fast as that. There was a slight accident with my home made VGA cable and I've only got composite cables to do me until then.

Fantastic! I've set the ordering process in motion... Oh, is it a male or female vga connection?

Wicky, how are you doing with the cable? I believe the problem definitely lies with your TFT screen.

I bought a modded VGA cable and hooked the GC up to my 15" TFT. It was just the same as you describe - annoying vertical lines running down the screen. I could alter the clock cycle to make it marginally better, but still pretty terrible. I'm sure it's the resolution 640x480 which some TFT's can't handle well at all. Any higher resolutions are perfect.

Anyway I could find no way to improve it whatsoever, so I swapped the TFT with my regular 17" monitor off my PC. The GC looks amazing with this cable on the regular (cheap I might add) monitor, also proving there was nothing wrong with the cable.

                              thanks Berserkgoose (odd name )

I shall have to try it with a regular monitor, i have a 17" monitor here but there is no input on the back, but i may be able to acquire one from work to test

glad to here it in a way, as i thought it may be the cable
