    SCPH-10230(E) USB Mouse for PS2

Has anybody ever seen one of these for sale? I've searched for one for around 4 years now with no luck. I know they came supplied with the Linux kit, but I've never seen one for sale seperately. They do exist however as I've see a picture of one boxed in the standard PS2 yellow packaging. It seems strange that the USB keyboards are plentiful, but these are very difficult to find. I'd really like one, so if anybody can shed any light I'd really appreciate it.
    Kept you waiting, huh?

Bearing in mind the Linux kit was a failed tax dodge I doubt they manufactured many. I have seen the keyboards in the same yellow boxes but I *think* that was in a Crime Converters type place so it may well have come as part of the kit.

keyboards are up on ebay quite often, mine was £6 posted new. I thought it was the supplied basic that was the tax dodge? I tried coding using that when my bro first got his ps2, gbasic? or something, it was awful.

The keyboards are plentiful. There are 70 on eBay right now. Surely they made the same amount of mice that they did KBs? You would have thought so anyway, being that the KBs have that USB passthrough that is designed especially for the mouse. Perhaps they are all sitting hidden away in some warehouse somewhere. It seems a bit strange.

The tax dodge was that Sony offered the Linux kit in small quantities in order to establish that the PS2 was a home computer rather than a games console, as EU law means it wouldn't be subject to tax if it was classed as a PC. The EU saw right through them though and they had to pay tax like everyone else.

Yeah I remember the story, but I was sure it was the included GBasic disc on the first PAL Ps2's, not the Linux kit, anyway my memory is fuzzy so you're probably correct.
