Id/user name change on PS3

Is it possible to change your id/user name (gamertag equivalent) on your PS3?

I tried looking for an option but there doesn't appear to be one.

Sure someone asked this a while back and the answer was no.

No, there isn't an option to do that. However, you could just create a sub-account using another email address and then you could use the new name on that account.
