I'm trying to remember an old multi-platform games mag released in maybe 2000-2001 it didn't last very long and the mag look like a glossy magazine, help me guys!

I really enjoyed that magazine while it lasted. It gave away a free copy of Game Over, which earned it a permanent place in my heart

It was called Maximum. Did 6 issues and was mid 90's

I think it is a big loss to lose Arcade as it is a game magazine which can be enjoyed without too serious articles. It is perfect for me.

Well it must be Maximum, it's not Arcade which was a great mag (infact I still have a few of them) I remember Arcade had a feature about 50 most important people in gaming.......Johnny Vahgan(spelling? Big Breakfast bloke) was in there for some reason.

Does anyone have pictures of Maximum?, I threw them out many, many years ago.

The glossiness does make it sound like MAXIMUM bu they were released in 1995-1996 (as mentioned above it only got a seven issue run and such was the care and attention that went into each issue, they were often late).

I can't find any images but the covers were as follows if it helps:

Issue 1 - WipEout
Issue 2 - Virtua Fighter 2 (Kage-Maru cover)
Issue 3 - Sega Rally
Issue 4 - Soul Edge (Li Long cover)
Issue 5 - Tekken 2 (Heihachi cover - Namco Special)
Issue 6 - Resident Evil
Issue 7 - Super Mario 64

It was an awesome magazine and I'm gutted it never went longer. To be fair, issues 6 and 7 were quite poor compared to the rest but Richard Leadbetter's interview with Mean Machinces Archive explains why this was the case.

Damn! now that I've seen the picture, no that isn't the magazine, I remember the cover being like a taloid newpaper.......

Actually having looked closer at the picture I realised noway could that be it, the magazine came out in 2000-2001 period.
