US PS3 not "seeing" Xvid files on Sandisc Cruzer U3 4G

I've loaded a few .avi's (Xvid) onto this stick and tried to watch them through my US PS3. However although the PS3 sees the stick and shows it correctly when I select it it says "There are no titles". Now I distinctly remember when the Divx functionality was first introduced in an update that the PS3 would play Xvid files from this stick. I did wonder if the U3 system was causing the problem but I have tried a another stick without the U3 files on it but still no joy.

Has a further update perhaps caused the problem? The files play fine from CD and DVDs.

I think you need to hit the triangle button and then view for them to show up.

Or put them in the VIDEO folder off the root

I use that same stick all the time to transfer my xvids (as huxley says i think you need to highlight the stick and then hit the triangle button which should give you the choices of information or display all (i think) just pick the display option to see your files).
