How do I check my 360's region?

Hi guys,

Is there any way I can find out what the native region of my 360 console is supposed to be?

The reason I ask is because I managed to grab a second cheapo 360 (console only) of eGay a couple of months back and it has played every PAL title i've thrown at it up until now. The other day I tried the UK version of PRO EVO 2008 and I received some error message saying "This disc's region is incorrect for the console". I've since played Call Of Duty without a problem but now I've just tried GTA4 and I've received the error message again!

The PAL version of GTA IV works on both PAL and NTSC-J consoles. I'm guessing you've got a US machine. Call of Duty is region free. What other games have you tried on it?

Cheers. I think you could be right Paulos. I've checked and it does look like the stuff I've been playing has for the most part been region free.

I've actually got the original box somewhere in the attic. I'll dig it that out and then I should be able to find out for sure.

It should say somewhere on the label at the back, providing it hasn't had the case swapped.

you could bung a region 2 dvd in and see what happens if your attic has spiders and stuff
