    Steam

Unless I?m very much mistaken (more than likely) there?s nowhere to discuss Steam updates. Seems a tad unfair considering it was there before ? and surely just as important as ? the likes of PlayStation Network, Marketplace and Virtual Console.

Just noted this on there, for all non-PS3 owners.

I think it'd be a good idea, the only reasons I can think of it not being done already are that most people on this forum aren't PC gamers (assumption on my behalf), and that it's not the only downloadable game content service out there. However, it certainly is the most popular service by far. I'm all for it anyway

Steam is great, I hadn't played PC games in ages but after sorting out my gaming rig I got the latest version and was amazed how far it's come.

Without it I'd never have got to try Audiosurf either.

Despite being an early critic of the service, I've come to quite like Steam. It's genuinely the only example I can think of where DRM is used in a pro-consumer manner (games being associated with a person, not a changing variable like a machine specification), and used to add functionality and advantages for the user (ability to log in and access your games from any machine, reinstall when needed etc). Valve deserve praise for that.

How come no one told me about this?
