Sennheiser HD 595 - Opinions?

Been reading up on these as I'm wanting a decent set of headphones for in the house.

Was gonna get the Grado SR60's but reading a ton of reviews and opinions etc, the 595's seem the better choice. Can get them for ?95 of Amazon when alot of places are still selling them for around ?140 mark!

Anyone got them at all?

I have the 595s. I tried those and the Grado 60s and 80s and went with the 595s. I *wanted* the Grados to be better but to my ear they just weren't. I paid £100 for min in Richer Sounds I believe and I think they are absolutely stunning. They did sound a bit harsh initially but that quickly faded (I believe this is normal for headphones and speakers?). In conclusion - highly recommended.

Ah nice to know you think they sound better than SR60's and 80's too for that matter. I may well order them today!

Been looking around for over a week now, it's for my birthday which was last week, just wanna spend the money wisely.

Well, they're an investment mate. I imagine you'll never need to buy another set of big cans again. Also, they are supremely comfortable. I have worn a pair for the whole day at work before now.

Just phoned Richer Sounds to make sure they have them in stock, rather go there and pay £5 extra just for ease, if I need to return them, and so I can have them today!

Just got em!

First thing, I am RAGING at Richer Sounds as they've given me an ex demo set or pre-owned or something as the box is all scuffed, torn and ripped, the headphones themselves just don't seem new, dust all over them especially on the soft material that goes around your ear when wearing them. May seem like nitpicking but when you spend £100 on headphones you at least want a non scuffed box etc! Oh and the 3.5mm jack you get with it isn't there either!

Gave em a phone and after checking said all their stock was like that for these so said I'll just get a refund and go elsewhere then but he quickly said they'd get a brand new pair from another store so I shall pick them up either tomorrow or Saturday.

Raging I had to go through that in the first place but at least I'm getting new set!


Anywayyyy, the headphones are still pretty good. Just put them off for a few songs but not gonna bother using them much more, dunno how long these have been used for etc so would like to break them in myself from new!
