360 webcam - what's the still image quality like?

I've had a hunt online but can only find a couple of really old reviews which reference the still image quality from the Live Vision camera. I was wondering if anyone has one of these and can let me know what sort of quality pics I could expect to get from it as that's the main reason for buying one. Don't ask, but it has nothing to do with my 360.

From the Vision Camera taken avatar's I've seen on my 360 friends list the quality isn't great, probably works great outdoor in proper daylight but that's not too practical

It's better than the PS2 cam - takes stills at 1.3 megapixels, though they tend to be a bit grainy unless there's a lot of light. There are better webcams out there, but its small form-factor is a plus.

Just think of how your average mobile phone camera performs, it needs lots if light then it can take fairly clear images

Stills are not too bad provided you can get the lighting right, but that's an achievement in itself. There's a few options you can play with to help though (like anti-flicker if you use flourescent / energy saving bulbs etc). It's not such an issue when using cam-enabled games though as the cam window is usually tiny.

I've used the camera a little and it really isn't too shabby at all. I had great fun using it to get my face into Rainbow Six Vegas! Never could get the hang of Totemball though!
