PS3 to HMDI 1.2a only LCD

PS3 is HDMI 1.3, the LCD is HDMI 1.2a. Will I lose any features? I'm only planning to run at 720p and via the TV's in-built speakers. I should be alright yers?
    Kept you waiting, huh?

Not a massive deal for most, but running straight to a TV you won't be able to get lossless sound (PCM) - you need to go through an amp that can accept the decoded audio for that.

Would that option be greyed out on the PS3?

I only use HDMI for picture, optical out to an amp for audio so I'll be sweet.

          Cheers me dears.

You said you're using the tv's own speakers in the original post

I will be yes, at first. This is going to be a second set-up in my new games room. I use optical for surround in the lounge on my main set-up. Initially I'll be using the TV's speakers before I get me one of those 2.1 Soundbar thangs, as the room doesn't really need 5.1. Both of the PS3s run dual HDMI and component connections so that I can enable 480i for PS1 games. It's rather complicated, well it's not but you get what I mean.
