Software on a new PC + Pro tools le and Mbox 2 vith vista

ive just bought my self a new pc with vista home premium on and norton 360 came on it as a free trial, im trying to get rid of it but it doesnt seem to want to let me delete it

everytime i try to remove it in the program and features bit in the control panel its says there is an error uninstalling norton 360 error:21

any ideas as to how i can get rid of this as is really doing my head in?

Do you need to be an admin to remove such ****e?

If it is a brand new PC the restore disk may give the option to not install it (though you'd need to wipe it clean).

I did this on my work Lenovo PC, removed all the IBM/Lenovo crap that gets installed by default

its say my account is the administrator account so i thought i would have been able to remove it like.

it is a brand new pc but didnt come with a restore disk just a restore point on the hard drive, ive rolled it back to when i first got it and tried to delete it then but no luck

You can't [easily] just uninstall Norton. Google Norton Uninstaller, that will get you a program designed to do it.

right ive downloaded the program what you suggested chain and i load it up but it just quits straight away and does nothing.

im thinking maybe if i borrow a vista home premium disk, format my hard drive and install vista again fresh with my serial code would that work?

of course if theres an easier solution then that would be smashing

That's probably your best route. The first thing I do whenever I have to set up a new PC is format the hard drive and give it a clean install, because the last thing you want when you've bought a nice fast new computer is for a load of trial software to slow it down.

Less trouble to do it now when you don't have anything of note on the computer than in a few months when you have a few gigs of music, pictures, important documents, etc.

Good luck. Very odd Norton Uninstaller didn't work.

Formatting always works. HOWEVER make sure you have the network/wifi drivers on CD first, some people format, lack the drivers, and then you can't get online!

rather than start a new thread i thought id use this one so has anyone got the pro tool software and the mbox 2 hardware working with windows vista home premium with service pack 1?

it says on the pro tools digi design website that it may not work but i thought id ask up to see if anyone has it working as i fear it might be out of date information on there
