Scart to RF Modulator?

Yes, I know someone who wants/needs to use a Scart to RF adapter, strange but true

A friend has got a very very old TV that only has an RF input, it's very retro, looks great and actually has a half decent picture.

They've been donated a Freeview PVR (customised to match the fake wood on the TV), which I assumed would work straight away what with it having RF sockets on it. Then I find out that it doesn't have an RF Modulator built into so the RF is acting as a pass through only.

Then thanks to Space Monkey I got hold of a Dreamcast RF lead which has an RF Modulator built in. After checking the pinouts I thought it would be a 5 minute job to knock up a Scart to RF Modulator. It didn't work though, tried it on the PVR and a DVD player.

Has anyone here made a similar converter, or would it be better to just buy an off the shelf converter?

That looks like a good one, may even be able to apply fake wood effect to it got me eye on an ebay one at the mo - otherwise it might be that one.

lol I was about to mention the DC RF cable, although I turned it into a regular composite cable for my DC while waiting for the VGA cable to arrive.

I'd reckon the reason it didn't work was probably because it was being powered from the DC, so I dunno if that'd been taken into account or not when you were doing the converter .

I'd reckon buying one would probably be easier
