Question about recovering Xbox 360 gamertag/profile

Hi, if i were to sell my 360 and delete all the content ive downloaded would i be able to use the recover gamertag function later down the line if i get another 360 to recover my entire profile? would i keep my acheivements etc? and would it recognise that ive bought content previously (xbla and xbox original games) and allow me to download the content again free of charge to the new machine?

DRM locks the content to the console you downloaded it on. There's a new process that was introduced just yesterday:

One thing i'd be careful of is what happens if you don't pay your Gold membership or don't use it for a certain amount of time. A mate of mine had a Gold and i think it expired or his card expired and he didn't use his Xbox for over 3 months, when he went back he couldn't use his profile nor recover it from MS. Not sure the details, i think i posted on here about it at the time, i'll search for the thread now.
