    PS3 Repair??

Having a prob with a PS3 which will not accept discs, start to auto feed but jams half way in

It is a Jap machine so I cannot get it sorted by Sony, so have been searching t'internet for repair service.

Came across GT Electronics, but a thread here crossed them of the list

I am looking at All Console Repairs and Console Repairs UK, does anyone have any experience of these at all? Or can anyone recommend a place?

    Cheers

This applies to PAL ps3 only
I live in mortal fear of my JPN and USA ps3 going down the toilet.

I've got a friend who machine had been opened after the drive had broke, cost him about 60 quid to get the drive replaced. I'll find out who he used.

He used a place called www.GTelectronics.co.uk and he said it cost £90 after all the postage, only took a couple of days

There is also Micromart who are a very good company for repairs, we used to use them for out of warranty PS2 repairs (several everyday then!) back in the day, they operate mostly in conjunction with various indies so there is info on the site as to how to find a local dealer.

Cheers for the tip, after reading a few bad things about GTElectronics on the forum might not risk it.

Will contact Micromart, but I have agreed to send to AllConsoleRepairs in the week, will let you know how it goes

That's my mate's site and he's very good. He chipped my PStwo as soon as they became moddable and he fixed it later on when the drive died - an unrelated problem, I hasten to add). Never had cause to get a PS3 repaired (touch wood) but I assume he can do it just as well.

Recieved my machine back from All Console Repairs.

Problem fixed for half the cost of other quotes and sorted within a week

Could have been a little better in terms of updates on repair being complete and being posted back out but small things really.

                    A from me.
