The Iriver T60 is quite nice. It takes a single AAA battery too, so it's easy to take extra batteries with you. Can be picked up for around ?40.

What headphones do irivers come with?

I am always temnpted by Sony walkmans as they seem to come with by far the best headphones and so don't need an instant replacement.

My old iriver came with senheisser headphones and argos are doing some good deals on sony mp3s right now, might be worth checking out.
