    Cheap, but quality laptop

The girlfriend has me on a mission to look for a laptop for her. Something she can do some office work and web browsing on. She's looking to spend upto ?300. Sounds cheap, but I have seen them for less out there.

Just wondered if anyone has bought anything recently like this or knows a good deal somewhere.

Preferbly something that is a good building, doesn't weigh a ton and doesn't make much noise.

    Cheers.

Yeah I saw them, but I think she'd only complain after a while that the screen is too small and storage is limited. She won't give a cat's scrote about ssd

HP Laptop on eBuyer at the mo for £269.97 and you get an extra 1GB memory for free, so it seems like a good deal.

I don't know about that specific laptop, but I've been using an HP for the past year and I haven't had any complaints. They're a quality make so even the cheaper stuff should be reasonably good.

I don't really know anything about computers, but I bought this one the other day on my mates advice. He said it was good specs for the money.

There is a ?5 off voucher for Play somewhere, and you can get about ?15 cashback via Quidco, so it works out at about ?360.

I really like it so far, but it is quite heavy.

We bought the daughter an Acer one from Comet at Xmas, half decent prices, it's silent, but is a touch on the heavy/big side.

Cheers. I'll show her that. The only other small problem is that she'll need XP as the the software or something she uses to connect to her work PC (in work) is only compatible with XP Pro at the moment she tells me.

I not so long ago downgraded my Vista lappy to XP, so that shoudln't be a problem.

I think curries or dixons online sell refurbished laptops, with quite decent specs for under £200
