God of War II on PS3 (both UK Pal)

This isn't listed on the official PS3 website backward-compatibility listings (the first one is and gets a very low compatibility rating). Can anyone tell me if II plays without any issues on the UK 60GB PS3 please?

Was thinking of picking this game up aswell, however the first game hasn't really aged to well in the looks department, was the second game much of an improvment over the first ?

widescreen issue

Got this game now, but having trouble displaying it in widescreen.

When I select 'widescreen' in the in-game options it squshes the picture (making Kratos tall & skinny) into a 4:3 frame but the TV is set to 16:9. It's almost as if I'm playing it on a PS2 set up for a 4:3 TV, yet it's on a PS3 set up for a widescreen TV.

I'm a bit puzzled with this one. Any ideas?

Have you tired fiddling with the upscaling options? I'm sure one of them there can sort this but not at a PS3 to confirm the exact option.

Thanks C, I'll check the upscaling options on my PS3 ... but other widescreen PS2 games have displayed fine so far (Shadow of the Colossus, Resi 4, etc).
