replacing the power supply on a jap saturn

I recently replaced my jap DC power supply with a uk one and couldn't believe how easy it was!

Does anyone know if the process involved in doing the same with a saturn is just as easy?

I'm very keen to do away with the voltage converter and all its messy wirey-ness.

Is your Saturn a Model 1 with oval buttons, or Model 2 with round buttons? I think the Model 2 power supplies are a doddle to swap over, with the Model 1s there were a couple of different revisions where I think the power supply was in the lid rather than screwed to the bottom half of the case (like your DC one would have been)

      Hi Pete,

Thanks for the advice. It's the round button model.

      Cheers

The connectors on the European and Japanese power supplies are different and won't plug into each other.

If you find the right PSU you'll have to lop the connector off and solder directly onto the pins.. make sure it is a very good solder joint and use some heatshrink. I've done it before.

The PSU carries mains voltage so be careful!

Cheers chaoticjelly - I'll give it a miss, such is my inexperience at such things.
