    Metal Dance Mat

Where's the best place I can get a metal dance mat for my PS1?
Ive got two crappy plastic ones and the amount of times ive nearly slipped and busted myself is countless.
Its only a matter of time before I slip backwards and cripple myelf on my PC monitor

Game are selling them for about ?150 although you have to go in and pre-order it with them as they wont be on general sale, only to people who order with a deposit.

I've got the Logic 3 metal dance mat that I use with my PS2. I'm pretty sure its compatible with PS1. Its had some serious punishment and has performed superbly.

I got mine from www.gameloaded.co.uk for about 95 quid including postage which was the cheapest I could find at the time.

I wouldnt recommend the Logic 3 hard dance mat as the design is fairly flawed... lasted about a week in Game On... and I'm forever scrapping the crap from the two strips of metal tape that gets deposited on the copper plates.

Day One : One mat doesnt work. Open it up, one of the copper panels has moved and broken the extremely thin wire hooking it up. Move mat and resolder wire.

Day Three : One of the control boxes decides that it want to select START all the time...

Day Seven : Mat stops working, remove metal holder, one of the wires has broken. Resolder it back on with solder, not the crap 2mm of solder and sticky tape that Logic 3 used.

Day Ten : Stops working again, metal tape under mat wearing to the copper panel, scrape off crap.

Day Fourteen : Remove one mat from show due to cracked dance panel.

Day Sixteen : Stops working again, metal tape under mat wearing to the copper panel, scrape off crap.

Day Eighteen : Stops working again, metal tape under mat wearing to the copper panel on 2 panels, scrape off crap.

Day Ninteen : Stick new tape down to a few of the panels.

Day Twenty Five - onwards... : Stops working again, metal tape under mat wearing to the copper panel, scrape off crap. Repeat...

Oh man - that sounds bad.

See if you can get hold of Phillai for a third opinion - to see if mine is a luck unit or MD's is an unlucky unit. He's dance game mad and I think he bought a Logic 3 mat around the same time I did - in fact I think I got that link from him.

I had two of these mats btw...

Going to stick down some cheap and cheerful GAME mats down, seem to be more reliable...

Perhaps I'm just really nimble and dextrous on it

hmm doesnt sound good. I dont wanna spend around ?100 and it break. But my plastic ones are so dangerous and they break aswel. Ive already gone through 2 of them.
I'll have a look around see what I can find.
But I might just get a piece of wood and nail my plastic mat to that so it doesnt move, far more cheaper.
                    But doesnt look as good
                    Thanks for the help

My experience of the Logic 3s is not good - they click and creek quite a lot (I am very light!) and are not made for expert play. 2-3 hours a week is not what I would consider "heavy use"! Try playing thirty catas on it a night and they don't hold up very well at all.

The only solution to ddr home play:
