Burn AVI files to DVD to watch on a DVD player

I have some downloaded AVI files that i would like to burn to dvd to watch on a dvd player.

How easy is this to do and what is the best way to go about doing it?

    Cheers

if your DVD player can play Dixv files, the AVI's can be played directly from the discs

older players cant do it, but my Aldi ?15 player can so its not a specialist extra

some players have USB sockets now and you can just stick it on that and play it

I use Nero Vision. Works a treat.

I use a free program called DivX to DVD (Try Download.com) it converts AVI / DivX to Vob Files and then burn them to a DVD, works a treat!

There's also a great program called ConvertXtoDVD.

Thing is, older DVD players can also be a bit tempremental with DVD-Rs anyway. I think you will need to check that.

                    I tried both programs...

ConvertXtoDVD by far the better of the two. Its a fantastic bit of software, i have never been so impressed. Very easy to use, sets up all menus automaticly, but gives you options to change them. Quick to convert and burn and it worked a treat on my mams dvd player.

Here dvd player is easy 5 years old and it had no problem coping with the burned dvd.
