I have a possible issue with my PS3 where sometimes, and only sometimes, I am getting a tearing problem with the display.
Now this is an important note. This is not a problem with an individual game, its not framerate dropping or v-sync tearing from a specific game.
This happens on the XMB sometimes when moving left and right, it will happen in video play back (DVD, Blu-Ray, trailer off PSN, and games (any game, any scene, menu system, web browser, whatever).
It's tearing at the bottom 3/4 of the screen with about 4 lines right next to each other and it's always in this place. The very strange thing is that its a random problem. I could turn the PS3 on 50 times and it wont happen, but then I'll turn it on one day and it will have this issue. If it happens, I turn it off, turn it back on and the problem has gone!
Repeat, this isn't game specific, it happens in anything running on the PS3 at that time. I'd say it was either a firmware bug that my PS3 has caught, or a possible hardware fault, but then it's not 100% all of the time! Weird huh?
PS3 is a US 60gb with hardware backwards compat
HDMI connection to HDMI> DVI adapter to DVI input
720p res
Any ideas?
