    PC building help

I've been thinking of building a PC and have been looking at some bits. Here's what I've got so far:

    C2D E8400
    Xfx nforce 790i mobo
    2gb ocz ddr3 ram
    Seagate 160gb 7200rpm hd
    Nvidia 260 gtx
    Lg blu ray reader
    Akasa zen case
    Corsair 650w psu

    c.?850.

Other than an OS and mouse and keyboard, what else do I need? What cables will I need that aren't included.

Alternatively can anyone suggest a pre-built system with similar specs?

Oh, and if you buy an OEM OS does it come with a product key/license?

OEM OS comes with a single machine key, which means it's tied in to that motherboard and cannot be transferred once you get a new mothetboard. Given a retail licence is x2 the price, you may as well get OEM, and just buy another OEM in a few years when you may need a to do an overhaul.

If you go Vista, go for 4GB RAM. I have a Core2-based desktop w/ 2GB, and a Core2-based laptop with 4GB, and general OS performance is much better on my laptop purely because of the RAM. Do not be scared of 64-bit Vista, it's the best Vista flavour and will allow you to make proper use of 4GB.

You will not need to purchase any additional cables, these will come included with the motherboard.

Mission accomplished! My PC has been successfully built and I'm posting from it right now. Decided to go with an Asus P5E3 Wi-Fi mobo instead of the XFX for cost reasons and I decided I would never use 3way SLi!!!!

Big up to overclockers too, stuff ordered on Wednesday and it all arrived yesterday.
