    DS boxes/boxart US vs. UK

I see people complaining alot about the quality of UK DS game boxes/boxart. So I want to know, please: whatsthedillyo?

    Thanks.

The generic spines i would imagine.

No artwork, just black and white.

Definitely the spines. Usually the front covers are okay though. The cases themselves are quite chunky, whereas the NTSC ones are slimmer and look better in black I think.

I prefer the UK boxes, the clear plastic just looks better. In terms of covers, I think I prefer the UK ones too, easy to find what you're looking for. The Japanese ones can be too difficult to locate quickly, and I'm very impatient at times.

I agree with the comments about the spines. They look very plain. I don't have any jpn DS games but I think i'm right in saying they are very similar to the US boxes?

Yeah pretty much. Also the clear bigger UK boxes are because of the needed extra space for multi language manuals compared to the normal single language of US/JPN releases.

Almost all my DS games are US or JPN. The few UK titles I own are because they either came out ages before the US (Another Code, 42 All Time Classics) or never made the US (Tingle).

I prefer the black FFTA2 box art. Sadly, I have the EU version.
Yeh, the wide format and generic spines and stupid coloured triangles are really crap, but at least they're consistent

                  Yeah I hate the triangles.

Looking at the shelves in a local games shop, I notice some have what I assume is the American-style black boxes. Some girly games and also Wario Ware Touched (which was sealed).

Personally, I prefer the clear boxes, but I can understand about the generic spines - was amazed when I traded my EU GC games for US versions!

I think around Xmas'07 some UK/Eur games came in the black cases as they ran out of stock of the clear cases.

US/JPN for me. I like the thin blackness and heavy duty weight to them. I can't stand the light clear boxes of the uk ones, it just looks cheap and nasty in my eyes and the spines don't help matters either.
