    Slow Xbox 360 Dashboard

Righto, I've got 2 Xbox Live Profiles. The first "shikkari" is my newest profile which I set-up after I had issues recovering my Gamertag onto my new 360. This profile is smooth, speedy, no issues with pausing between blades or selecting Live options.

The second "teddymeow" is totally useless. It takes forever to sign in, selecting different blades / Live options seems to take an age and don't even get me started on my friends list. It can take (I've timed this) up to 2 minutes for a selected friends' Profile to appear on screen.

Is there anyway that I can speed this up or should I dump the profile (and it's 16000 odd Gamerscore) and concentrate on my new shikkari GT?

    Thankyouverymuch.

Mine was really slow at being usable, until I disconnected the broadband connection. Then everything became speedy. Logging in takes AGES for me, and that might be down to the size of the profile / verifying Gamerscores with MS. It seemed to take longer when logging in wirelessly than by direct connection, but that may be down to my wireless router.

Have you tried using the blades without logging onto the internet? If there is a problem when you're not logged in, then it might be something to do with your old profile save file - can this be re-downloaded? If not then all the delay may be due to MS's servers, and them verifying that the old profile is legitimate. That wouldn't be as long a process for your new profile, as it was created on the Xbox you're using it on.

I don't know much about this, just guessing from fiddling with my Xbox's settings and trying to get logged in quicker.

I think its something to do with gamer pictures, achievements, Friends profiles etc being cached on the Hard Drive.

Mine was the same when I recovered my gamertag but I noticed when it was sat on the dashboard there was a lot of network activity on my router. So I left it sat there for a bit until it stopped and its been fine ever since.

      Might be worth a try?

My dashboard sped up dramatically on switching from a 20GB drive to the 120GB model so suspect the amount of free space plays a role. Dry deleting stuff you no longer need. Also try having only one profile saved to the hard drive, move all others to memory card.

Try recovering your profile. mine went from 40MB to 20MB, it must of been full of various rubbish bits and bobs.
