"PS3 File system corrupt" Please help

I think my hard drive just died on me, i tried to install the Haze demo but got an error message so deleted the demo itself in case it was corrupt and carried on using the machine, then the next time i turn on the machine i am greeted with "the hard disk's file system is corrupted and will be restored" - then when i press to carry this out it just reboots me back to the same screen.

Then i turned the machine off for ten minutes and turned back on to be greeted with the error message "Cannot start, the correct hard drive can not be found"

Does anyone have any idea whats going on with this?

ive done a bit of internet searching and most advise to remove the hard drive and insert in a computer to re format or to ring sony, does this mean ive lost any save games and stuff ive bought from the store for good then?

Copy the save on memory stick or something and then reformat it.

I cant get into the PS3 xmb etc to do anything mate looks like its going to be a remove the hard drive and format in the computer job

From your first post: you can re-download stuff from the store easily enough, once the drive is sorted, log in to the store, top right corner, "my downloads" or similar and just grab everything again.
