I couldn't find any custom install option, I even uninstalled and reinstalled but it just installed the complete package. I had a look around online and it seems that to uninstall individual parts of Office '08 in OS-X that you just drop it in the trash??? That seems far too sensible but I've checked and it seems to be true.

When I first read that you just delete it, I had to confirm it in another 4 or 5 places as I didn't believe it!!! It's far too sensible for my liking.
When I uninstalled the software it took all of 0.5 of second to uninstall it. lol
I read something that worried me a touch though. It seems that if you drop an item into a folder which already has something with the same name then the new one will automatically replace the old one. I've got a horrible feeling that sooner or later I'll accidentally delete something I don't want to by doing this.
Are there any things like this that people think I should know about which, like this, aren't exactly obvious for Windows users?
I'm really liking Frontrow now I've got my music on here. It's a really nice package to use.
I've got an icon called Macintosh HD which I select to bring up my folders. Is there any way to clear it from the desktop or do I have to keep it there?

I just used O2M to transfer all my emails from Outlook to Mail. It was so simple to do, it was well worth the $10 it cost me. I now have about 4000 emails...I think it's about time I got rid of some of the older emails that I don't need any longer.
I found something really weird. In Finder listed under Shared I have something called Thomson which is apparently a PC Server and I'm connected to it as a guest. I've got nothing else connected to the Mac so I was a little worried at first that perhaps somebody else was using my router.
After looking online it seems that it's actually my BT Home Hub and I can connect a USB hdd to the home hub to use as a network drive. Not sure I'll ever need it but it's worth bearing in mind for the future I suppose.

I ended up buying that 1password program, I've spent a fortune so far on a few little things like that. lol
I had another conversation about my missing mouse today. After a 10 minute conversation the woman from Apple said "Technically, it's been lost in transit."
Yeeaaahh...thanks for that
I knew that...
I knew it on Friday...
I phoned them up on Friday to tell them so...
It's taken four days to go from being lost to being technically lost. They now have to wait for an email from TNT to tell them that it's been technically lost and then they will technically order another for me with expedited delivery.
Can an email be lost technically just like a mouse can? Should I be worried or pleased that because the second one is being sent via expiated delivery that it could technically be lost a lot quicker than the first one? I have so many questions the Apple FAQ just doesn't seem to cater for!
Anyway, more questions for the people who know about this stuff on here!
Using Mail, I currently have one email account but is it possible, and simple to add more as the same user? I have a work email address that I can access from home using web mail and also another couple of email addresses that I'd like to access without having to sign out of the main account.
Not directly related to the Mac but I want to burn some PlayTV files on the PS3 to DVD so should I be using DVD+ or DVD- discs?

No easy answer on burning DVDs John. I tend to use DVD- to do the same thing you're talking about. BTW, if you want to convert the PlayTV mt2s files to something that can be played on a PSP or DVD then i recommend VisualHub. Now discontinued but there is an open Source version (source code only at the moment but I can build it for you if you like).
Regarding the mouse, you could always to a trick that I do on occasions like these. Buy it form somewhere like Currys and staert using it and when the one from Apple arrives just return that one to currys for a refund
