PS3: Can you install the same game twice?

I've finally got the English text version of MGS4 through today. Can it co-exist with my JPN one on the HDD? I don't want it to install over the top and I lose my JPN save game see.
    Kept you waiting, huh?

game saves aren't related to game data for one.

That's what I thought. I'll just have to re-install the JPN one if I want to play that later methinks. Saves should be in seperate folders for the 2 different games.

I doubt the saves will overwrite each other, if they do, just back the one you're not using up to a memory stick and replace it after.

It'll be fine, even with the same user ID you can have two different copies of the game running as long as they are from different regions.

Everything including the saves & cache files will be seperate so you will have to have two installs on the PS3. The saves aren't locked to the user ID in any way but if you try copying the saves to a memory stick you'll see that both have different reference tags.

I'm not sure about all games but all the games I've seen will create a save folder that's specific to the game's region and have a different folder name to other region's versions of that game.

It works fine. I've got 2 Data files, and 2 Save files inside of the MGS4 folder. Strangely Genji doesn't allow this, and you can have only 1 Data file at a time. I think this is because you don't have to install if you don't want to. MGS4 forces it so I'm guessing this is why it works ok.
