    Warrenty replacement screwed over

So in a previous thread my laptop died and its been returned and i get a call saying unfortunetly they are out of parts since its a bit older or so and they are going to replace it with a newer model....well ok i guess as long as data is ok..

Anyhow the replacement arrived today (to late for me to ring them which is why im posing the question here) but the replacement is completly inferior to my old one, ive gone from wifi, 256 geforce go etc etc.to all onboard SiS bulls**t ugh
I dont mean to sound ungrateful of course, but i just feel a bit cheated

What kind of standing do i have to take this up with them, if any? Has anyone else had this happen to them etc?

If it's not comparable to them to replace it.

Though I don't know how old the previous graphics are, the onboard might actually be as good (though it probably uses shared memory).

As far as standing goes it'll all depending on the wording in your warranty contract. It's possible that they can choose what a "comparable" replacement is in which case technically you've probably no come back. Regardless though I'd imagine it's at least worth ringing up and complaining.

They have to replace like for like if its not the same specs or improved you will have a case. You do need to check though as onboard moves on very quickly and you could have got a much better onchip replacement.

If it's a Dell, they haven't met the terms of the warranty. (Ex employee here)

It's up to someone to go through your order and spec up the new system to equal or better than what you had before. Whoever did it didn't do it properly and I'd get onto them ASAP.

They'll know right away by comparing the two orders that they have messed up. If it's not a Dell I can't say for sure what their policy would be but I'd guess it'd be the same.
