Can anyone recommend a good digital camera?

    Hello all,

I'm in the market for a digital camera and would love to hear your recommendations.

I'm somewhat of a novice in this area, so I'm not completley sure how much I should be looking to spend.

I'm looking to part with around ?150-?200 (though again I'm not too sure about what I would get for that price) and would be using the item mostly for indoor pictures to e-mail friends.

Also, where did you buy your digital camera, on the high street or the Internet? Can anyone recommend any especially good retailers or websites?

Looking forward to your suggestions 8)

Olympus C350 is good value for money. This site is one of the best in the uk for buying cheap digital cameras from.

Remember you need at least 2Megapixels, pref 4MP+

Also note optical zoom is real zoom and digital zoom is the equivalent of booming the image up in photoshop, i.e. pixalated

The kodak DX range of cameras, or any camera which is using a kodak CCD.

            They make excellent CCDs.

Might be slightly over your price range but the Canon powershot A70 is ace (3.2 megapixels). Mine was ?268 with a 64mb card too.

Got it from internet cameras direct, very good service. Camera has all features of a regular SLR with a great picture.

Only downside is no re-chargable batteries. Just get a set of NiMh's and a charger for under 20 quid though.

I got a 2nd hand Olympus C-220Zoom for ?99 from Cash Converters and spent ?50 on a smartmedia card and rechargeables. I think they'res around ?150 new, the pictures are great :-)

That picture was taken from an attic window (skylight?) with the sun shining on it.

does it come with SMG as standard and did you spec a radio + a/c ?

I just took delivery of the Canon A70. ?235, do a search on www.pricerunner.co.uk.

I had it on order with Amazon for ages at ?227, but no stock until mid Sep.

The A60 is identical, except it's 2MP instead of 3MP, you should be able to get this with your budget.

I went to Jessops to get my hands on the goods, you can't tell how a camera will feel/handle just looking at specs and pictures.

Jesus, that's a beautiful car... and the picture is very clear but there's a lot of noise & crap around the M3 logo though if you look closely and random grey pixellation on the rear bumper. How much was the camera?
