    MiniDisc to PC conversion

I was wondering if anyone could advise on this.

I love MiniDiscs and think they're a great medium and over the years, I've amassed hundreds. However, I have to concede that they're not longer a viable format in terms of practicality. Also, when I play music nowadays, it's mostly through my PC.

Thing is, I've got quite a few good albums on MD that rarely get played because I can't be bothered with getting the MD player out. As a result, I could really do with a means of converting my old MD albums to PC.

Now, I know it's possible to do so via an analogue line-in jack and a program like Audacity (I've done this in the past for little musical projects), but doing this for hundreds of MDs would be tedious and time consuming. So, does anyone know of a solution that would allow me to digitally transfer my MD content to my PC which I could then convert to mp3 format?

    Please advise. Thanks.

One of the NET MD walkmans with USB connection maybe? I know latter day MD supported MP3 tho think you had to use sony's own softwares for the conversion.

I think one or two of the last MD Walkmans Sony made could be used to copy digitally from MD to PC.. last year I was looking to do the same as you as I have loads of MDs lying around but I couldn't find one at a decent price.

Thanks for the heads up, guys. Of course, this means I have to buy ANOTHER minidisc player (i.e. the hi-MD model) just to do this, but that shouldn't be a big deal.

        Time to check eBay...

It would be must easier just to download the albums, surely?!

Perhaps, save the fact I don't want any torrent program anywhere near my PC. Also, what of the non-album compilations I have on MD? I can't just assume every single track will be available to download from somewhere...
